the joys of being the little sister

So, the other night.....I'm in the kitchen doing the dishes, turn around and this is what I find:
I just had to laugh, it was too funny, even though I told Bryson NOT to draw on his sister's face! I couldn't get him to fess up to it, but who else could it be?!?! (Sarcasm here...) Luckily, it was just dry erase marker, and it came right off with one swipe of a wet cloth... Oh the joys of being the little sister...

Bryson's Preschool Promotion(graduation) Program

Bryson is officially done with school for the year. He's been going two days a week 9-12. He has absolutely loved it, and is already asking me when he gets to go back to school. :) Even tonight as I was putting him to bed, he asked me if he could go to school in the morning.... cute. Luckily his preschool is offering a few summer programs, which we're planning to take advantage of, so he will definately love that. The program was Thursday night at the school and was very cute. Bryson even sang some of the songs!!!!! Which is a huge improvement from last winter, where he didn't sing a single word during the whole Christmas program!!! It was so fun to watch, and we have the whole program on video, of course...to show at his high school graduation!! But, no nose picking this time. (there was in the Christmas program....priceless!!!) He was telling me at home that night how he really wanted to wear one of those blue hats...But he informed me that only the kids graduating Pre-K(4-yr. olds) get to wear the hats, and so next year, he will get to wear one of the hats!! Here are a few pics for you to enjoy, and a little snippet of the "God Bless America" song they did at the end....You can't really tell from the video if Bryson is singing or not, which he isn't for most of the beginning, but he gets into it during the end at "From the Mountains..." and of course, loves waving that flag around and the big finish is so cute... A-MER-I-CA!!!

Brad's 29th Birthday

We had a fun Sunday last weekend, to celebrate Brad and Devin's birthdays. Brad's was Sunday, and Devin's was Monday. So, we had a great meal...homemade pizza, fettucine alfredo, salad, and of course...cake!! Cara came to help us celebrate, of course. When we got home from church, Brad opened one of his gifts, and Bryson and I got him a nerf "shoot gun" (as Bryson calls it), so that he can play with Bryson and they can get the 'bad guys' together....Bryson got the exact same toy from Uncle Ryan and Aunt Liz for Christmas this year, so it was only fair that Daddy had one too, right?!?! :) Anway, Brad loved it and the boys went to go play right away....after marking with a sharpie whose was Daddy's and whose was Bryson's!! I made a really yummy cake, and ended up doing it, and the frosting, from scratch. Which mostly was by accident, because I didn't get to the store to buy a box mix. So, I found a fairly simple recipe online, had all the ingredients, and tried it out! I turned out sooo yummy. Chocolate cake with a white chocolate frosting. The birthday boys liked it and I think had great birthday!

Mother's Day

So, I had a wonderful Mother's Day. We enjoyed our morning(well, afternoon actually) at church. Came home, ate a scrumptious meal of crab legs, shrimp coctail, baked potatoes, salad, Red Lobster cheddar biscuits, and a Pepperoni Hot Pocket! (Okay, so Brad doesn't like seafood, but it was Mother's Day, so I got to choose what I wanted to eat, and he was in charge of his own food!!!) Lucky for me, Bryson is liking seafood so far. And, Annabelle was napping so we didn't really have to worry about her meal during dinner time. After dinner, I got to relax while Cara did the dishes, and Brad fed the baby (after she woke up from her nap). Aunt Cara even made some yummy cookies for us to enjoy! It was a wonderful day. I'm so grateful for being a mother...it's one of the biggest blessings Heavenly Father has given me. It's everything I've ever dreamed....and more....

It's Summer!

So, school's out (at least for Bryson) and we're ready for summer! It's been so stinkin hot here, and just recently, we've FINALLY gotten some much needed rain! We've taken advantage of our friend's apartment pool, and have had some backyard fun! We have a tiny kid pool, but plan to get a bigger one for Bryson and his friends to play in too. We're looking forward to a great summer!
Ela holding Annabelle's hand while I put on these cute glasses and snap a pic!
Chillin' at Ela's pool! Me and my water-babies!!
Aunt Cara! Yay...that's a happy face, I promise! :)
Coolin off in the backyard!

New trick....or hazard!?!?!

Annabelle's new favorite thing is to climb on the kitchen chairs and then onto the table. When she first started doing it, she would stand up and do a little stomping dance...scaring me to death! So, whenever Annabelle is around and the chairs aren't being used to sit on, they're turned over on the carpet in the other room!! Hopefully she'll learn quickly that standing on the table is NOT acceptable!

Some favorite pics

Here are a few of my favorite pics from recently. Annabelle chillin' on the couch on day...she was lookin' so cute, I had to snap a few pics of her!
Bryson and Annabelle had a "picnic" in the backyard....enjoying their lunch of corn and cheese quesadillas with sour cream....Yum!!

San Antonio T.E.A. Party

On Tax Day, April 15th, we attended the San Antonio T.E.A. Party downtown. T.E.A. as in "Taxed Enough Already!" If you weren't aware, Brad and I have really gotten into the political scene over this past year or so, and have learned soooo much...Brad especially. Our eyes have really been opened and we're realized that you can't depend on the general media to get your news and current information. (In case you haven't noticed, the mainstream media is VERY biased, even though they claim not to be.) We're researched and learned a lot about our history and believe the founding fathers were inspired when creating such documents as The Constitution....which seems to be viewed as just "an old-fashioned document" by many political leaders today. Anyway, it was great to see/hear Glenn Beck and many other great speakers at the Tea Party and feel the support of all the other people there with the same views, like less goverment and more personal responsibility....so that's that, if you wanna know more about our political views check out http://www.campaignforliberty.com/ Here are a few pics from the event. We went with our friends Devin and Ela Connor.

Bryson's Birthday!

I can't believe my baby boy is 4.....well, others have thought he's been four or even five for quite a while now...because he is so tall!! We had a great week celebrating Bryson's birthday. We opened presents at home and had cake & ice cream, then celebrated with friends a few days later. We had planned a party at the park, but we had rain, and decided to move the party to our house! The kids played and we had snacks, and of course cake! A friend from church made Bryson's "Spiderman" cake, and it turned out awesome! Bryson - we are so grateful for you and the sweet boy you are. You add so much to our family and we love you - we are truly blessed!

My Birthday

Yep, I'm 27 - my birthday was April 9th....it's sad that it's getting harder to remember my own age...Seriously, I had a friend ask me how old I turned on my birthday, and at first I said "28...wait - no, 27!!" Maybe I was just extra tired that day.... :) It was a super busy day as I was running all around town picking up and delivering baked goods for a bake sale I was in charge of for the MOMS Club. (I'm on the board this year) So, although it's not the best pic of me, here's a pic of me with my cake that our good friends Devin and Ela got for me! Brad and I went to the movies (and I got in for free with a "free movie on your birthday" coupon....sweeeet deal!)

Long Time No Post!

So, it's been almost a month since I posted anything, and wow....it's been a busy month! We had a great Easter, and we have celebrated mine and Bryson's birthdays and recently dealt with the ridiculous and WAY over-exaggerated "Swine Flu!!" Aunt Cara (my little sis) arrived here in San Antonio, and we are LOVING having her here. She's living in a house with a girl about 15 minutes away, so it's working out nicely. Here are a few of my fav pics from the past month: MOMS Club Egg Hunt, Bryson had a blast picking up his eggs, but Annabelle wasn't really interested...it was still pretty cute, though.
